Did you know that where you live will impact your choice of car?
The DVLA has recently released new data that reveals that your postcode can affect the car that you buy.
The main factors in what car you buy include proximity to the factory, your area's wealth, and the community around you.
If you are in London, especially the Kensington area, it is more common for drivers to own a luxury car, with one in four cars being a BMW or a Mercedes.
This is different to areas like Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes, where the percentage of BMW and Mercedes owners is less.
Drivers in Luton and Essex are more likely to own a Vauxhall or a Ford due to the car-making heritage in both towns.
Due to Fords Dagenham plant, and the Vauxhall plant based outside of Luton, it appears that if your town has a heritage, you are more likely to be loyal to that brand.
Keeping up this trend, Nissans are popular on Tyneside due to a major factory.
James Ruppert, the author of second-hand car guide Bangerpedia, said: 'Obviously posh car brands inhabit well-off areas, but it is excellent to see local brand loyalty isn't dead.'
The remaining car brands are popular in the following area: Volkswagen cars are at their most popular in Bristol, Volvos on the Scottish Borders, Fiats in Cardigan, Wales, and Hyundais in Carrickfergus Northern Ireland.
When it comes to electric cars, they are increasingly popular in London – where they avoid the daily £27.50 charge imposed on more polluting vehicles.
